Day 12: The Perfect Day

Alright, falling further and further behind but you know, Confucious said “It does not matter how slow you go, so long as you do not stop.” I always think about that when I’m feeling inadequate.

12. What is a “perfect” day?

This is a difficult question because it could go a lot of different ways. Perfect in terms of weather? Company? Adventure? Who knows.

Adventurers

Carefree, rain-washed day
No wrench round my heart
Fresh soaked in dew and blossom perfume

My cheeks,
the left—
kissed by the sun
The right—
kissed by you

Denver, Prague, Kathmandu
We explore the world around us
As long as you’re with me
I’m home

The perfect day
anywhere, any weather
as long as I’m with you

There are several different ideas in this piece and I can already tell when I go back to edit it, I’ll probably take each idea and expand it into a separate poem. For the purposes of this challenge though, it’ll do.
